AFMFL, DIY, xoxo
It’s Friday, I’m in love.
I’m always in love, not romantically, but I am, in many ways. Today, I hope my finds will have you interested–we’ve got a food blog, a new book, Fred Astaire, a DIY idea, and more.
Let’s talk a Walk now.
A Feast Made for Laughter (AFMFL) – Benjamin, an American friend who lives in Bangkok, has started a new blog on food–not your ordinary food blog–he cooks, serves, dines (with select guests), then blogs. What is interesting about his blog is his plan to make ‘50 Dinner Parties in 50 Weeks.’ Yes, I think everyone will be very excited to receive his invites soon. It-Degree: 360
Tie-as-Belt - Browsing through The Sartorialist, I fancied checking out his blogs from July 2007. I stumbled upon a picture of Fred Astaire jumping with an all-white ensemble with black socks and a slim tie used a belt. You bet that picture is old. But isn’t his style timeless? It-Degree: 240
DIY Shirt: The Dandy Project had a project. DIY. He said his inspiration came from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 Collection where handprints took the focus on plain shirts and pants. The idea is brilliant. Don’t we guys like to play DIY sometimes? It-Degree: 240
Eric Daman’s Book (You Know You Want It) - I bet it’s already out in the market. Somewhere. My recent trip to Kinokuniya showed no signs of the book, though. Eric Daman is the costume designer for Gossip Girl and used to be the assistant designer for Sex and the City, where he won an Emmy. He’s also the creative consultant for Charlotte Russe. Petrou Man Spring 2010 – There’s a lot of colours, patterns and prints in this collection, but the one featured here is the one I like the most–tan suit with subtle linear details. I think I have made it crystal-clear that tan is one of my favorite shades this season. It-Degree: 240
‘Wear It Like You Stole It’ – Berkley Magazine says it all. And they’re talking to you, guys. Yes, guys. No more to “save-it-for-special-occasions” clothes. Wear it like you stole it. Wake up each morning with the goal to surprise everyone. It-Degree: 360
Wide-Legged Pants - Nevermind if it’s cords or not, it just should be wide-legged. And folded. Skinnies and slimcut jeans will stay for good, we all know that, but this one is something you can always wear if you ever get tired of ‘constriction.’ It-Degree: 360
